Thanks for all the great advice guys
I'll try the builds out and see what I like , I'll look around at the wiki and in the monk screenshot thread to find some armor ideas, I hope I can find something nice .
Furthermore, I'll try to get hold of those 40/40 and whatnot weapon sets

Imo LoD > WoH in general pve. Maybe that's just me.
But for a hero... It is better. Monks waste WoH's secondary effect, using it as a normal heal. But they do know how to cast LoD.
And d-shot is awesome.

idk.. I've had some pretty good results from my hero monkies running WoH. Also, WoH with no <50 is still really really good lol.

Many a' mesmer in GvG and RA would soon learn with much disdain why our monks had bows.
On topic:
PvE Monking:
1. Equip healing skills.
2. Roll face across keyboard
1B. Equip healing skills.
2B. Place a sleeping cat on your keyboard.
The 2nd method holding tried and true for me. Unless your doing DoA or Hardmode or something, then just take a pick of the many overpowered builds/skills/concepts and have at it.

Today I've tried out some builds, and they were all fine, just as I expected cause I could complete PvE without using a single skill anyway ... (so to speak ofcourse)
I've had no succes in buying a 40/40 healing set and whatelse yet, though, so I'm still using a +5/+30 // +5/+20% ench (for HB) + endgame factions healing offhand. So yeah, weapons aren't perfect yet
Anyway, I've decided to buy Luxon 15k armor, maybe with a tattoo body.

Even if I'm pissing around, anything is better on a Monk bar than a res.
Oh, and lolpugs.
I usually have a hero take that and I micro it. (PSpirit that is)
To be honest, I just use it. Cheap decent interrupt, Tommy uses it and I love interrupting stuff.
Something I learned on an Asda ad!
I understand what you're saying, but it's PvE and anything works! Go with another prot, Seed of Life, GoLE or whatever of you're going seriously though. Oh, and I actually used Bull's Strike on my Monk in AB once. Funny stuff.

What happens when Tommy dies and the rest of the party are you going to be able to rbirth them?

This wouldn't happen if Tommy did his job. And wouldn't if monk didn't carry. Usually, if you DO carry a rez, you will use it. Same with gun - you don't need it, but if you have it... You will at least pull it out.

When I take my res I never use it but if I don't we all go down and what about The Police you mean they go around shooting people as the carry guns and armies as well.Bad analogy
I always think of a res like spare tire.

We're still arguing about this? Jesus christ.
Oh, and who's side are you on here? Res or D-Shot, because it looks like you're against both.
PS: You didn't have to quote all of my post.

i personally never wear a res of any sort while monking. your bar's cramped enough as is, and if you waste the utility of your 8th spot for something you use .1% of the time, than you're one step closer to the floor. leave res skills to mesmers, sins, paragons, and dervs. their bars are really loose, can adapt to having only 7 skills easier, and they usually have the ability to escape major wipes. also.. to have more than like.. 2 people in a team of 8 carry as res is a major waste. when i play with heroes (two humans), only one res is carried, and its usually my warrior friend with FomF or DPS using EShake and me Dslashing. with humans, i usually only let the sin (another pal of mine) wear the res, thanks to all the 50 million escape skills he could take to get out of trouble.
either way you look at it.. i've seen them used maybe 4 times total ever lol.

WoH hybrid for me... I never bring a res. If anyone (of my h/h or guildies) dies, it's either because I got too much aggro, or I didn't prot/heal properly, never happens in nm, happens occassionally in hm.

same, WoH hybrid or ZB prot for me. I would only occassionally carry a res in difficult hm areas.

PvE is a great place to start monking. I don't see why your ashamed of it. Most hardcore PvP'ers learned the game from pve.

The last word I have on it is just take your time and learn it well and there is nothing wrong with taking a res.I teamed up with a lot of PvE Monks that were good and they had resses as well as radiant armour. It is a lot different when you are pug Monk like me.
